Patinter at the II Iberian Road Safety Symposium

The II Iberian Road Safety Symposium (SIRS) took place between the 6th and 8th of March on the campus of the Technology and Management School of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria and counted on the active participation of Patinter. The opening session included the intervention of the President of the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR), Rui Ribeiro, representing the Secretary of State for Civil Protection, José Artur Neves.

The initiative organized by Spanish and Portuguese entities intends to discuss cross-cutting issues that are part of the international agenda, but also some of the main concerns of citizens regarding road safety. The debate on the 2nd edition of the Symposium had the motto: "Road safety: current situation of accidents, prevention, and the future."

As a partner of the organization, Patinter was invited to develop a presentation whose theme was "Impact of road accidents in the carrier's active fleet," carried out by the company responsible for the insurance sector, Armando Leite. Patinter also contributed with an on-site vehicle, whose purpose was to make known a little more about cargo safety and which equipment/new technologies are present in vehicles that enhance safety.

The project "Iberian Road Safety Symposium " began in Spain (Cáceres), in April 2018, and the organizing committee consists of a multifaceted group, which includes the Technology and Management School of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Câmara Municipal de Leiria, the Guardia Civil, the University of Extremadura and APREVEX. Patinter is associated with this project of Iberian dimension, being part of the wide range of partners that it gathers.
