50 years of Patinter celebrated with commemorative vehicle editions

To celebrate half a century of history, Patinter decided to develop commemorative editions of five vehicles alluding to the date. These vehicles are new editions of models used by the carrier in the 1970s and 1980s.

Two of the trucks developed in the partnership between MAN, DAF and Patinter correspond to the models of the 1970s, where the influences of the old Paris Aquitaine image are highly visible. By this time, Patinter had introduced trucks with green tarpaulins, but yellow was already proving to be the color of choice for painting the tractor units.

Besides these, two more vehicles were created, this time inspired by the 1980s. At that time they "dressed" in blue and yellow due to the acquisition of Patinter by the company's current management (and then-owner of Azurtrans, located in Porto). Consequently, the tarps adopted the blue Azurtrans color as the predominant tint, with the tractor units painted dark yellow.

In turn, and to complement the four trucks mentioned above, the Renault brand chose to mark the date in a different way, congratulating Patinter with one of its models equipped with cutting-edge technology. Among the extra features built into this vehicle, highlights include the ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), differential lock, side signals, tail lamps and aluminum rims.

Pedro Polónio, Patinter general manager, views these vehicles as "the perfect way to celebrate 50 years of our company" adding that "a company must know how to appreciate its history, but also have the ability to plant in the present in order to harvest fruit in the future.” Pedro Polonio further emphasizes that "the investment in policies of sustainability and innovation, to which these commemorative vehicles conform due to their characteristics, are proof of our vision and positioning to face tomorrow’s challenges. "

Daniela Santos, Patinter communications director, also underlines the importance of the company's history when evaluating these special edition vehicles. "As we look at these vehicles, we proudly recognize an increasingly robust and responsible brand that reflects the dedication of thousands of people who, over the last 50 years, have contributed to the company's growth and today’s position of leadership," she concludes.

Patinter is currently the largest Portuguese carrier and recently commemorated 50 years in business. With close to 1,300 employees, the company operates in more than 20 countries and is one of the largest transportation groups in Europe.
